Kwame Alexander Books will publish picture books, middle grade, young adult, and adult titles by Alexander as well as other authors. Alexander approached Sourcebooks CEO Dominique Raccah through an Instagram message. “They seemed to understand how to market and sell books, and that has always been a challenge to me in my relationships with publishers,” Alexander told the New York Times (gift link). This isn’t Alexander’s first time starting an imprint; he is also responsible for launching Versify, a children’s imprint, with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in 2018 (now part of HarperCollins).
